| For the final part of the course, I made male and female period
costumes. I created a 1340 Noble woman and slightly lower down the rung
male. A knight in court dress? |
The costumes were made to measure. I wore the female and my
little brother wore the male. Thanks to Michael for all the time and effort
you put in. |
The era was one where being pregnant was very fashionable,
hence the pose. |
My first year project was to construct an animal suit. I choose
a wild thing from the children's book "Where the Wild Things are!".
I constructed the child's costume Max for my end of year parade. |

| These costumes were a work in progress. They began as Goth
fairies for a twenty first birthday party. |
Then they became punk fairies for the Costumer's Guild Ball
where they won a hall prize. |
Then they were paraded for my end of exhibition by my sister
in law, Natalie and a performing arts student. The result was a loud and
crazy act. They are some of my favorites and heaps of fun! |
These beauties are the real deal. A roman toga and the female
equivalent. They are based on the authentic article, the amount of material
used in the toga is unbelievable. |

| The specter of a fancy dress 21st was again the inspiration
for these two. I choose Brittany and Kevin from the MTV cartoon show Daria
as my "Cult Cartoon Character" |
Just for the record. The love of costume and sewing is inherited.
Joyce teaches sewing and has made dress up/costumes as long as I can remember!
I still have fabric from this lovely Clown number! |
This one is a work in progress and yes my bum is meant to
look that big. I wore the finshed out fit to the staff christmas party. |
