Joyce’s Quilting Quandary

Holidays over!! Back to Ballarat and the cold! Block this week is in celebration of Catherine’s birthday. She turns 34! But, celebration has to be a far distant one! Thank goodness for the internet. I thought that half a cup cake would be sufficient this time. The spotted fabric opens up lots of opportunities for variations. I thought that I had better use satin stitch again. The Bernina works well, especially with the open toed foot on.

My husband,  Arnie’s birthday this week so I thought the idea of a birthday cake was a good idea for a design. I pleated the black fabric for the base of the cup cake .The top is black and white spot which I lifted with some machine embroidered coloured spots.
